A finished install from the inside should look similar to this every time. The unit is level horizontally, it’s evenly spaced in the room , and it’s in a location that allows the air flow to circulate above the unit. A split system air conditioner installation must have a gap above the unit of no less than 100mm. The fan draws the air from this space before pushing it out the front. The volume of air the machine can move, and therefore cool, is dependent on having enough space above the unit for air to flow in.

There should be no marks on the wall where your installer was working, cleaning up is part of the job. The reason our split system installs look professional is because they are. There’s far more to it than meets they eye. You can’t see the copper pipes in any of these photos for a reason. They are covered in foam lagging and duct to keep condensate off the surface. This keeps them corrosion free and functional for the life of the system. You can’t see the bends inside the duct, but they have been made using proper bending springs to ensure that the pipe retains is cylinder shape uniformly through the run. Any deformation of copper pipe reduces the amount of gas that can flow, which in turn reduces the performance of your system.

You’ll also notice that the top of this unit sits below the window line so as not to obstruct the view of your neighbours fence. Just because it’s a crap view, is no reason to block it out. This is split system air conditioner installation perfection.
